What is in the Gardetto's snack mix? ›

The original blend of crunchy breadsticks, salted pretzels and roasted rye chips, seasoned with Gardetto's secret family recipe. Made to bring people together, our Original Recipe is perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients. Enriched Flour (wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Vegetable Oil (soybean, high oleic soybean, canola and/or high oleic canola), Rye Flour, Salt, Sugar.

They're just little spiced pieces of dried rye bread.

The seasoning is addictive, a powerful explosion of salt, salt, garlic, and salt -- and apparently dried Worcestershire sauce, onion, baking soda, caraway, and a million chemical-sounding ingredients.

Gardetto's is a brand of snack mix owned by General Mills, which also owns the similar Chex Mix.

While Gardetto's snacks are low in fat and sugar, they do contain higher levels of sodium, so it's important to enjoy them in moderation, especially if you're watching your sodium intake.

Gardetto's removed the sesame seed bread sticks from their snack bag and replaced it with an inferior plain bread stick. Let the company know you wish to have them go back to the original recipe before 2013 when they changed it.

The Gardettos are also more dense, as you might expect. Having 2 different types of breadsticks in the mixture adds a little more “girth” to the overall bite. I would reach for the Gardettos if you want a snack that will fill you up a bit more. Meanwhile, the Chex Mix has a more yeasty flavor.

The Gardettos are more like the oatmeal equivalent–substantial, more oomph. From a texture standpoint, the Chex Mix definitely feel lighter, so I could see it being easier to get carried away with this mixture as opposed to the Gardettos.
